Two people were killed and a man was injured early Sunday morning in a car accident in East Flatbush.
Around 4:45 a.m., a 2004 gray Nissan Murano traveled north on Kings Highway near Snyder Avenue when the driver lost control, crossed multiple lanes of traffic, got into the southbound lane and was struck by an oncoming Ford Explorer, police said.
The people inside the Murano -- two women, ages 43 and 31 -- were taken to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead. Their identities were not released, pending notification of next of kin. The 23-year-old driver of the Explorer was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, police said.
The NYPD wouldn't comment on published reports that the deceased were New York City Corrections Officers.
No arrests have been made, and police said the investigation is ongoing.
