The two men arrested in the Sunday morning beating of a 24-year-old tourist are expected to appear in court Friday to see if indictments have been handed down by a grand jury. More arrests may be imminent as police investigate the savage attack that was captured on a cellphone video, which went viral.

Hatem Farsakh, 24, of Dyker Heights, who was out on $5,000 bail, told Daily News reporters Wednesday he went outside to break up a fight. Police say he was part of a group that bashed Kevin McCarron, 24, of Andover, Ma., with a bat and tire iron, fracturing his skull and leaving him in critical condition with severe head and internal injuries at an area hospital.

His lawyer, James Kirshner of The Lazzaro Law Firm, said, they want to see the evidence before deciding on a defense.

Farsakh's friend, Sherif Rizk, 22, of Bensonhurst, was arraigned shortly before midnight Wednesday on assault and attempted murder charges. His lawyer was unavailable for comment, but his father said his son was innocent. Rizk was given a cash bail of $15,000 or $30,000 bond. McCarron was visiting New York City with his brother and friends.
