We've all heard about the costly keratin salon treatments that purportedly reverse the effects of abuse and tame frizzy and flyaway hair. It was only a matter of time before marketers broadened their keratin products to apply to the at-home market. These products contain hydrolyzed keratin, which supposedly fills in the jaggedy gaps in the hair's cuticle.
We tried products now out on the market to see what the effects were.
Fekkai PrX Reparatives Intensive Fortifying Mask (above)
Star stylist Frédéric Fekkai has jumped on the keratin caravan with his PrX Reparatives line hair face-lift. The Intensive Fortifying Mask contains silk extract, panthenol and hydrolyzed keratin in a light, luxurious milky whip with a light, appealing scent. Sho 'nuff, frizz was finished, tresses were de-stressed and hair felt smoother and well-nourished. Best results were achieved when rinsing out with cool water.
