Veteran G train operator dies during morning run

A G train operator died after apparently suffering a heart attack Wednesday morning, the second death of a NYC Transit worker in two days.
Domenick Occhiogrosso, 50, was at the controls of a south-bound G train around 8 a.m. when the train abruptly came to a stop and it became apparent to the conductor that there was a problem, transit officials said. Occhiogrosso was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Service was delayed for about an hour, but no one was injured.
The Brooklyn resident was a train operator for 24 years. On Monday, a 45-year-old track worker was killed after he was electrocuted by the third rail in Brooklyn. The MTA is still investigating Monday’s incident.
