Warm Monday temps break 100+ year record

It feels a lot more like the Easter season than the holiday season.
Temperatures at Central Park hit 70 degrees Monday, breaking the previous high of 69 degrees for the date, last reached in 1990 and before then, 1896.
And while New Yorkers shouldn't expect another record to be shattered Tuesday, temps will reach the mid-60s, said AccuWeather meteorologist Steve Travis. The normal high for this time of the year in the city is 49 degrees.
"The pattern is such atypical of what we usually see now," Travis said. "We're just not seeing a real intrusion of a wintery cold mass - at least not in the Northeast."
He expects the mild temps to continue into at least the first week of December. When winter rolls around, we'll definitely feel it, Travis added, "but not as bitterly cold as we saw last year."
The rest of the week's temps will be sunny and in the 50s.
