Wes Welker in green? Move to Jets makes sense

Could Wes Welker join the Jets this offseason? KC Joyner of ESPN Insider thinks it's not a bad fit, but not a likely one, either.
The longtime New England wide receiver will test free agent waters beginning next week.
Joyner listed five teams that make sense for Welker other than the Patriots - the Lions, Seahawks, Eagles, Buccaneers and Jets. Though he calls the Jets the "least likely" landing spot for Welker, he believes the signing makes sense for the following reasons:
-- Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez had the third-worst short pass yards per attempt among qualifying quarterbacks in 2012.
-- The signing would both strengthen the Jets and weaken the rival Patriots in one stroke.
-- Adding a Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver like Welker would mean positive PR for a very publicity-conscious team.
