Willow the wandering cat had a ball in the Big Apple on Thursday after a mysterious five-year, 1,600-mile journey from Colorado.
The plucky pussycat, found last weekend on the streets of Gramercy Park, received much media exposure, including an appearance on Anderson Cooper's daytime show. The calico is now scheduled to return west to be reunited with the Squires family, of Boulder, Colo. They implanted a microchip in the cat that eventually identified the lost kitty years after they'd given her up for dead.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg joked Thursday that Willow's incredible adventure shows that everybody, even cats, wants to come and live in New York.
