Woman killed by hit-and-run driver in Queens, NYPD says

Police say a 21-year-old woman has been killed by a hit-and-run driver in Queens.

The accident happened shortly before 12:30 a.m. Saturday in Astoria.

Police say the woman was crossing Ditmars Boulevard when she was hit by a car that kept going.

The woman suffered severe head trauma. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Her name was not immediately released.
