A woman was struck and killed by a subway Wednesday afternoon after she apparently fainted and fell onto the tracks, police said.

According to officials, the unidentified woman, who was in her 20’s, fell onto the tracks in front of a northbound No. 5 train at 77th St. shortly after 3 p.m. She was dead by the time police and EMS arrived.

An FDNY spokesman said another woman fainted on the platform after the incident and was taken to Lenox Hill hospital.

Service was resumed at the station by Wednesday evening, the MTA said.
