One worker was killed and at least two others were injured in a partial building collapse Monday morning in Fort Greene Brooklyn, officials said.

A spokeswoman for The Brooklyn Hospital Center, Catherine Derr, told Newsday one man was confirmed dead - but said there were conflicting reports about the number of injured in the incident.

Some media agencies were reporting four others injured. The FDNY initially told Newsday two workers had been injured and transported to the hospital, and later said three workers were injured.

An FDNY spokeswoman said the collapse in the 200 block of Carlton Avenue was reported in a 911 call at 9:13 a.m. Monday. She said at least two of the workers had to be extricated from the site.

The four-story building appears to be under construction. It is located near the hospital, Pratt Institute and the Prison Ship Martyrs' Monument.

The NYPD said the cause of the collapse, which occurred during work on the roof of the structure, was unclear.
