Subway service to the World Trade Center station was restored Friday morning after a "smoke condition" was resolved, officials said.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority did not detail the cause of the smoke. There were no reported injuries.

The MTA said E train service was suspended in both directions between West Fourth Street and World Trade Center to start the morning rush hour and said the E was running on the F train line between West Fourth Street and Second Avenue.

The MTA announced at about 7 a.m. that normal service had resumed on the E line.
