Well, this is some surprising — and sad — news.
Earlier this year, “High School Musical” star Zac Efron spent time in rehab to deal with a serious addiction to cocaine, according to a new report from TMZ.com.
According to TMZ, the clean-cut 25-year-old’s drug use “spiraled out of control” while filming Seth Rogen’s flick “Neighbors,” which started shooting in April and wrapped soon after. Sources told TMZ that Efron didn’t show up to set on several days.
“It was common knowledge he was struggling with cocaine,” a source told TMZ.
Efron reportedly also used Molly, a form of Ecstacy taken by the two people who died at this summer’s Electric Zoo festival in New York.
Efron’s rep had no comment.
