The state transportation department has announced that it is postponing until May 9 the closures originally set for this week of two eastbound travel lanes on the Southern State Parkway at Route 135/Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway, Exit 28A in Seaford between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

In a news release, the department has said the delayed closures would include, the Seaford-Oyster Bay southbound ramp to the Southern State Parkway eastbound.

The closures will be in effect Monday through Friday nights for the week starting May 9 and that Friday, will be in effect between 10 p.m. and 10 a.m., the DOT said.

The closures will allow for preventive maintenance repairs and will be dependent on weather, the DOT said in a news release.
