Nine people were injured, six seriously, in a five-car crash on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge on Monday afternoon, according to the FDNY.

The crash occurred about 2 p.m. in the bridge's eastbound lanes.

One person received serious, life-threatening injuries, five had serious, non-life-threatening injuries and three received minor injuries, a fire department spokesman said.

They were taken to Staten Island University Hospital. All of the injured were adults, but the ages and genders of the victims were not given.
