Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano is reaching out to communities to find Nassau County’s Senior Citizen of the Year.

The annual award, presented through the Nassau County Office for the Aging, recognizes someone 60 or older who has demonstrated outstanding concern and action for human services and community involvement relating to any age group.

The candidate must live in Nassau, never have received the award before, not be a paid employee of any organization, and be submitted on an official application form.

“There are so many seniors who have dedicated themselves to enriching the lives of others,” Mangano said in a statement. “While this award will pay tribute to only one of them, I commend all of our seniors for the vital role they play within our communities.”

Nominations may be made by individuals or groups. All nominations must be submitted on an application form and postmarked by March 27.

For information or an application call 516-227-8919 or email michele.greenblatt@hhsnassaucountyny.us.
