The MTA is placing warnings and restrictions across all of its bridges amid the nor’easter, according to the MTA website and a spokesperson who said the agency is banning “empty tractor-trailers and tandems” on all MTA bridges.

There are additional restrictions on the Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, Marine Parkway Bridge and Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge because of strong winds. Multiple forms of towing are prohibited on those bridges, including “piggyback, dual [and] multiple trailers,” according to the MTA website.

On the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, all trucks that aren’t prohibited have to use the bridge’s lower level.

Drivers should reduce their speed going across the Throgs Neck and Cross Bay bridges because of windy conditions, according to the agency.

The MTA has also shut down pedestrian walkways along the Cross Bay and Marine Parkway bridges because of strong winds.
