East Hampton Deputy Supervisor David Lys said there is “significant” flooding on the town’s bay-side coast, with water washing over docks. On the ocean side, water is scraping against dunes.

The Montauk Lighthouse, he said, has recorded wind gusts over 60 mph.

“Lots of trees are down, some power outages,” Lys said. “Overall, the brunt of the storm is upon us right now, and we will be evaluating as the day goes on.”

Lys said some areas on the north side of the town “are impassable.”
