The Town of North Hempstead will hold another collection of household hazardous waste Saturday in Port Washington for town residents only.

The event, one of four this year, will be from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Solid Waste Management Authority (802 West Shore Rd.).

Items will be accepted in several categories:

* Pollutants: aerosols, pesticides, disinfectants, fertilizers, compact fluorescent bulbs, rechargeable and lithium batteries only, TVs and computers and oil-based paints (dried-out latex and water-based paints, which can be thrown out with regular household garbage, will not be accepted).

* Unwanted pharmaceuticals: prescription and over-the-counter medications in original containers, and vitamins.

* Personal records for shredding: documents, CDs, DVDs, disks, X-rays, coupons, pill bottles and credit cards.

* Gently used items to be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters: clothes, stuffed animals, working electronics, toys, books, knickknacks and dishes.
