North Hempstead hosting community meeting

The Town of North Hempstead is hosting a community meeting tomorrow for New Cassel residents to discuss arts initiatives, Neighborhood Watch and the soon-to-open community center.

The meeting, hosted by Supervisor Jon Kaiman and town board member Viviana Russell, begins at 7 p.m. at the Park Avenue School, 955 Park Ave. in Westbury. On the agenda will be economic development initiatives and efforts to form a Neighborhood Watch in the area.

The community center, a $20 million facility with basketball courts, a senior lounge, television studio, exercise and conference rooms set to open in the late summer or early fall, also is on the agenda.
