North Hempstead residents are invited to a meeting of the town’s new redistricting committee Monday evening to discuss revising council district boundaries, officials said.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. in the town board room at Town Hall (220 Plandome Rd.) in Manhasset.

The nine-member committee is made up of one appointee selected by each of the six council members and three named by Town Supervisor Jon Kaiman.

The group, led by Kaiman appointee John Riordan, a retired judge, is charged with analyzing council district boundaries following the 2010 Census and proposing changes to the map, if necessary, by June 15. The town board would have to approve any new district lines.

The town board has a majority of Democrats.
