Eleven people who were arrested after Nassau police say they formed an angry mob at Nassau University Medical Center early Saturday morning have pleaded not guilty to various charges at their weekend arraignments.

The group had been trying to visit Rudy Montour, a 23-year-old Hempstead man who had been shot by police on Friday night after he pulled a gun on officers as he was being chased, Nassau police said.

When hospital staff turned them away at about 12:30 a.m., police said, the group became threatening and aggressive.

One man arrested at the hospital, Kadeen McDonald, 21, of Hempstead, fractured an officer's hand as he resisted the handcuffs, police said. The officer, who was not identified, was treated and released.

Also arrested were Timothy Fenner, 21, of Uniondale; Jason Fraser, 20, of Freeport; Derick Hernandez, 20, and Gary Mosley, 19, both of Roosevelt; Terrance Pinkard, 21, of Far Rockaway; Celena Lewis, 24, of Jamaica, Queens; and Hempstead residents Marcus Spooner, 21, Jeremy Pryor, 20, Genevieve Mamouzette, 22, and Andre Warsop, 23.

They were charged with crimes including rioting, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

Fraser, Hernandez, Warsop, Spooner, Pryor, and Pinkard pleaded not guilty at their arraignments on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead and were each ordered held on $5,000 cash bail. The six are due back in court in Mineola on Tuesday.

McDonald, Fenner, Mosley, Mamouzette and Lewis pleaded not guilty at their arraignments on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead. McDonald, Fenner and Mosley were ordered held on $25,000 cash bail, while Mamouzette was ordered held on $7,500 cash bail and Lewis was ordered held on $5,000 cash bail. The five are due back in court in Mineola on Wednesday.
