Wes Welker didn't even hesitate. In fact, the Broncos receiver seemed perplexed as to why the question was asked in the first place.

Nothing could keep him from playing in Sunday's Super Bowl -- not even a concussion. "What do you think?" Welker replied during Tuesday's Media Day at the Prudential Center. "I mean, you want to be out there. The Super Bowl, this is what you dream about."

The receiver, who has a history of concussions, missed the Broncos' final three regular-season games because of a concussion. He returned for the playoffs, wearing a special helmet.

"You're going to be there," said Welker, 32. "I don't care what it takes, you're going to be out there in this game."

Holmes still haunts DRC

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie still can picture Santonio Holmes after all these years. In between answering questions about Denver's upcoming matchup with the Seahawks on Super Bowl Sunday, the Broncos cornerback recalled one of the worst moments of his professional career: Super Bowl XLIII in 2009.

"Does it haunt me? Yeah," said Rodgers-Cromartie, who, as a member of the Cardinals, lost to the Steelers, 27-23. "Because every time the Super Bowl comes around, they show that one play with Santonio Holmes catching the ball in the back of the end zone. And you see yourself right there. I was that close to getting a ring. It's always been on my mind. It wasn't my play, I was in the area."

Holmes was named the Super Bowl MVP that year. "That throw, that catch -- it was just meant to be," Rodgers-Cromartie said. "I think if you give them 10 chances, I don't think they make that throw and catch again."

"Filet" Philbin

Regis Philbin burrowed his way toward the front of the media crowd in an attempt to get the attention of Broncos defensive tackle Terrance Knighton. "Pot Roast!" Philbin shouted. "I need a nickname! Give me a nickname! Anything!" After pausing for several minutes, Knighton finally replied "Filet" -- much to Philbin's delight.
