Tiny Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport saw sugarplums for Christmas, with a performance of “The Nutcracker” raising $6,500 for the 90-bed facility.

The performance by the Bethpage-based Eglevsky Ballet earlier this month was at Peconic Landing, a large retirement community on a 114-acre campus near the hospital.

The performance costs were subsidized, with the hospital getting all of the money from the 160 tickets that were sold, according to hospital officials.
