The newly born Village of Mastic Beach will use one of Brookhaven Town’s nutrition centers as its new village court, according to Brookhaven Town Councilman Dan Panico.

Mastic Beach will use the center at 369 Neighborhood Rd. two nights a month and pay a $30 “per use” fee, according to Panico’s office, which said the dates are still to be determined.

The nutrition center’s daytime operations will not be affected. The center is one of three in the town that serves nutritious meals to senior citizens.

“As a person who grew up in Mastic Beach and a William Floyd grad, I am particularly interested in making sure that my hometown realizes its full potential,” Panico said, “and will do everything I can to work cooperatively with the village as they move forward.”
