The New York Mets are providing alternative transportation to the Subway Series games on Saturday and Sunday for Long Islanders impacted by the LIRR strike, according to a news release from the team on Saturday morning.

There will be an extra Citi Field Direct Shuttle running out of both the Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington Station and Roosevelt Field in Uniondale. The Mets are also running a new shuttle out of the Manhasset LIRR Station during the strike.

Shuttle tickets are available online for $8 per person or $22 for four people.

“With LIRR service suspended and near-capacity crowds expected at Citi Field throughout the weekend, fans are strongly encouraged to ... take advantage of the many alternate transportation options available to and from the ballpark,” the team wrote in its news release.

Fans who opt to drive to the game should, “allow for additional travel time due to anticipated increased traffic in and around the ballpark,” according to the Mets news release.
