Agee xxxxxxxx
Tommie Agee became the first, and only, player to hit a home run into the upper deck at Shea Stadium. Agee's second-inning blast off the Expos' Larry Jaster landed halfway up the left-field stands for the longest home run to reach the seats in the history of the stadium. The home run was the first of two on the day for Agee, his first career multi-home run game, helping the Mets to a 4-2 victory. Agee's name, uniform number and the date were later painted in the spot where the ball landed in Section 48 to commemorate the home run.
