Missed punt, Bears defense seal Giants' fate

Phil Simms was 14-for-35 for 209 yards and didn't throw a pick, but the Giants were held scoreless in a 21-0 loss to the Bears in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs. The Chicago defense held the Giants to just 32 rushing yards, forced three fumbles and had six sacks.

Jim McMahon was 11-for-21 for 216 yards and threw two touchdown passes to Dennis McKinnon in the third quarter. But the only score the Bears needed was struck by Shaun Gayle, who returned a Sean Landeta missed punt 5 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter.
