Knicks win 1,000th at home
Patrick Ewing had 20 points and 20 rebounds as the Knicks recorded the 1,000th home victory in franchise history with a 107-78 demolishing of Charlotte before 18,872. John Starks had 15 points in 22 minutes off the bench. Charles Oakley and Mark Jackson added 14 points each in the milestone win. The Knicks outrebounded Charlotte 75-35, including a franchise-record 52 defensive rebounds.
