NYPD captures terrorists in mock attack in Greenpoint

The NYPD took down the corrupt "Boardwalk Empire" yesterday.

In an anti-terrorism drill on the set for the HBO hit in Greenpoint yesterday, the NYPD "arrested" six armed terrorists and airlifted a wounded officer to safety by helicopter.

The mock attack, staged at the fictional Ritz Carlton Hotel headquarters of gangster Nucky Thompson (played by Steve Buscemi), was performed to practice rescuing "hostages," played by college students enrolled in the NYPD Cadet Corps.

The drill was one of many "to address the threat posed by multiple, active shooters after armed terrorists in Mumbai killed hostages in a hotel, train station, restaurant and Jewish community center there in 2008," according to the NYPD.
