The NYPD cop who killed an unarmed teen in his Bronx bathroom was indicted by a grand jury on first and second degree manslaughter charges Mondayand is expected to turn himself in Wednesday, according to published reports.

Officer Richard Haste, 30, was part of a team of street narcotics officers who concluded that Ramarley Graham, 18, was behaving suspiciously and chased him into his Wakefield home on Feb. 2, tracking him to his bathroom, where he was apparently trying to flush a handful of marijuana down the toilet.

Haste "believed that he was pursuing an armed felon who bolted rather than be caught with an illegal gun," Patrick Lynch, head of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association, told The Wall Street Journal. "Several members of the officer's team had confirmed the presence of a gun and that constituted a grave danger to the officers and the community."
