Oceanside School Voters Guide 2010

7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Oceanside High School and Schools No. 5, 6 and 8.
THE BUDGET
The district is proposing a budget of $128,584,216 for the 2010-11 school year, an increase of 1.98 percent over the current budget of $126,081,500. The tax levy would rise to $104,580,827, an increase of 2.29 percent over the current $102,239,093.
Taxes on an average house with an assessed valuation of $1,232 will pay $6,524 in school taxes, an increase of 2.29 percent over the current figure of $6,378.
The proposed budget also includes a 2 percent increase in teacher salaries - plus a step increase of 1.4 percent - and no reductions to district staff, programs or services.
