Off the Wall is a titanic fan of thrifty things.
TITANORAMA! They're pulling out the big guns for this week's new programs marking the 100th anniversary of that Titanic sinking. Get ready for James Cameron! Bob Ballard! Len Goodman! (Huh?) "Titanic: The Final Word" (Sunday 8-10 p.m., NatGeo) has '97 "Titanic" movie director and underwater aficionado Cameron convening a panel of experts to determine why the ship sank so fast. Ballard's "Save the Titanic" (Monday at 10 p.m., NatGeo) examines efforts 100 years ago to keep the ship from sinking, along with efforts today to keep the submerged wreck from being "loved to death." On "The Titanic With Len Goodman" (Tuesday at 8 p.m., PBS/13), the "Dancing With the Stars" judge, who once welded ships for Titanic's builder, visits Belfast descendants of the ship's passengers and crew. SERIES SNEAK PEEK Following AMC's new retro "Mad Men" (and "The Killing") this weekend are the modern-day admen of "The Pitch" (Sunday at 11 p.m., AMC). The docu-competition series, officially premiering April 30, watches ad agencies try to lure clients by designing cool campaigns, starting with Subway restaurants. Peek preview at amctv.com/shows/the-pitch.
LOCAL ANGLE Long Islanders top two reality series premieres. "Hotel Impossible" (Monday at 10 p.m., Travel) uses Gurney's Inn in Montauk as its first example of a lodge that needs TLC (and probably some heated advice-yelling) to stay afloat. (Read a review in Monday's exploreLI.) "Baggage Battles" (Wednesday at 10 p.m., Travel) features airport auctions of abandoned belongings before bidders like Mark Meyer of West Babylon's Nifty Thrifty. More at travelchannel.com/tv-shows.
CALLING ALL GLEEKS! Tuesday doesn't just mark the return of fresh episodes of "Glee" (8 p.m., Fox/5). It also brings the premiere of "Glee: Don't Stop Believing" on "Biography" (9 and 10 p.m., Bio), which traces the show's path from peculiar concept to pop-culture phenomenon. Clips at biography.com/tv/biography.
NEW SHOWS We're not necessarily recommending these. We're just saying. Yo. Here they are. If you want 'em. "Fatal Encounters" (Monday at 10 p.m., ID) traces the tracks of both killer and victim. "Meat Men" (Monday at 11 p.m., Food) watches New York butcher Pat LaFrieda chop custom burger blends. "Shannen Says" (Tuesday at 10 p.m., WE) listens as actress Shannen Doherty plans her wedding. "Love for Sail" (Tuesday at 10 p.m., Lifetime) takes the dating game onto a singles cruise ship. "Big Easy Justice" (Tuesday at 10 p.m., Spike) eyes New Orleans bounty hunters. "Dream Machines" (Tuesday at 10 p.m., Syfy) starts with 50 Cent ordering a race car inspired by a space ship. "Sold!" (Wednesday at 9 p.m., History) unloads historic objects, collectibles and more at an Ozark auction. "Gang World" (Wednesday at 10 p.m., Bio) looks at the evolution of violent gangs.
