Off the Wall: Dumb-dumb, dumb-dumb, it's 'Sharktopus'
Off the Wall just can't get enough schlock.
SHARK(TOPUS) ATTACK! Who cares if the movie's any good? The title is "Sharktopus" (Saturday at 9 p.m., Syfy), the producer is Roger Corman, and the mondo monster looks like just what the title says. It's totally cheesy and dumb. What's not to love? (The flick even stars Eric Roberts!) Trailer at syfy.com/movies.
UNSCRIPTED PREMIERES Steve Harvey and wife, Marjorie, are the first guests on "Conversations With Ed Gordon" (Sunday at 10 p.m., BET). "Teach Tony Danza" (Oct. 1 at 10 p.m., A&E) follows the star of "Who's the Boss?" and "Taxi" as he becomes a real-life English teacher in one of Philadelphia's toughest schools. FALL SEASON Fall's new-show flood slows to a trickle. Fresh on the networks: Michael Chiklis, Julie Benz and their superhero kids in "No Ordinary Family" (Tuesday at 8 p.m., ABC/7), and Skeet Ulrich and Terrence Howard in "Law & Order: Los Angeles" (Wednesday at 10 p.m., NBC/4). Back for more: "The Simpsons" (tomorrow at 8 p.m., Fox/5) with guest voices from "Glee"; Julianna Margulies in "The Good Wife" (Tuesday at 10 p.m., CBS/2); Mark Valley's "Human Target" (Oct. 1 at 8 p.m., Fox/5), and many more. Best of all is another killer season of "Dexter" (tomorrow at 9 p.m., Showtime).
TV TALK Now you can see those Paley Center for Media celebrity interviews without heading into Manhattan. The premiere of "At the Paley Center" (Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. on WLIW/21 and 9:30 p.m. on WNET/13) has Ted Danson talking with Paley Center president Pat Mitchell. Upcoming: Angela Lansbury (Oct. 8) and Jimmy Fallon with Brian Williams (Oct. 15). Episodes stream after premiere at thirteen.org/paleycenter.
UN-ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT They just keep on creating, those folks behind "Arrested Development." On the heels of last week's Fox premiere of the Mitch Hurwitz-Will Arnett comedy "Running Wilde" comes David Cross' new series, "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret" (Oct. 1 at 10 p.m., IFC). Co-writer Cross stars as an awkward American who bluffs his way into a London executive position hawking the new energy drink Thunder Muscle. Expect Arnett to appear (as his foul-mouthed boss), plus other guests like Amber Tamblyn and Janeane Garofalo. Video previews at ifc.com/toddmargaret.
