Providence. Meanwhile, frights go full-time in 13 Nights of Halloween, starting Friday with films like "The Mummy," "The Addams Family" and "Addams Family Values" (4:30, 7 and 9 p.m., ABC Family). Full lineup at abcfamily.com/13nights.
RED HOT AND NEW WEEK Guess who's got it? Wrong! It's Military Channel, premiering new series and sneaking in upcoming offerings every night. Among the previews: "The Brokaw Files" (Monday at 10 p.m.), where Tom Brokaw revisits D-Day with World War II vets, and "Commander in Chief: Inside the Oval Office" (Thursday at 10 p.m.), flashing back to 1962's epic Cuban Missile Crisis during which the Kennedy administration faced down Soviet nukes. More at military.discovery.com.
UNSCRIPTED ARRIVALS What's new? How about "My Shopping Addiction" (Monday at 11 p.m., OWN)? Other new thrills: "Extreme Cheapskates" (Tuesday at 10 p.m., TLC), "Tattoo Nightmares" (Tuesday at 11 p.m., Spike), "I'm Married to a . . ." (Wednesday at 11 p.m., VH1). Then there's "My Life Is a Lifetime Movie" (Wednesday at 10 p.m., Lifetime), explained at mylifetime.com/shows.
HISTORY BIGGIES The United States came out of its catastrophic 1860s Civil War to rise into a global colossus. Historic names like Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, Carnegie, Morgan and Ford would turn out to be "The Men Who Built America" (Tuesday at 10 p.m., History), as sketched in an epic new series. A one-hour special gets more contemporary, following terror clues to their conclusion in "Osama bin Laden: The Finish" (Wednesday at 10 p.m., Discovery). It's based on the new book by "Black Hawk Down" author Mark Bowden.
