Overnight paving work to close lane of Mill Neck Road

Overnight paving work will close one lane on West Shore Road one night a next week in Mill Neck, according to a news release. Which night the work will happen hasn’t been chosen yet, Nassau County Department of Public Works spokesman Michael Martino said.
The paving will take place from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. In addition to the paving, railing along the seawall will be installed within the next two weeks. The railing work will not be done during morning or evening rush hours and will not require a lane to be closed.
Martino said this work will finish the first phase of the project to restore the road, which was damaged by superstorm Sandy. The road was closed after the Oct. 29 storm and reopened in June. The remaining two phases of the restoration have yet to be scheduled, he said.
