Oyster Bay Town officials Tuesday in a 7-0 vote approved two-year agreements to provide dog warden services to 12 villages.

The services, which town spokeswoman Marta Kane said include the pickup and transport of stray dogs and cats found within village boundaries to the town-run animal shelter in Syosset, will be extended to the villages of Muttontown, Laurel Hollow, Lattingtown, Roslyn Harbor, Oyster Bay Cove, Mill Neck, Farmingdale, Centre Island, Brookville, Bayville, Massapequa Park and Old Brookville from now through Dec. 1, 2013.

“If they [the villages] have an issue — a dog, cat or other stray animal — they call us and we come get them,” Kane said.

The town charges the villages a per-incident rate of $75, Kane said.

The Oyster Bay town animal shelter currently houses 33 dogs and 29 cats.
