Oyster Bay Town residents can dispose of household hazardous waste, electronic waste and prescription and over-the-counter drugs on a special collection day scheduled for Sept. 10.

Town residents can take items to the town Solid Waste Disposal Complex on Bethpage-Sweet Hollow Road in Old Bethpage from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The town has been collecting household hazardous waste for 26 years. This will be the eighth year for electronic waste collection. Oyster Bay was the first town on Long Island to have a regularly scheduled e-waste program, and the town began a drug collection program last year.

Electronic waste collection has also been scheduled for Oct. 1, Town Hall South, 977 Hicksville Rd., Massapequa; and Nov. 6, Department of Public Works Garage, 150 Miller Place, Syosset. The Oct. 1 event will also include drug disposal.
