The seventh of eight 2011 homeowners cleanup programs for Oyster Bay Town residents will take place Oct. 15.

Residents who live in the town’s Solid Waste Disposal District may take nonhazardous rubbish to the Solid Waste Disposal Complex on Bethpage-Sweet Hollow Road in Old Bethpage from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bushes, tree limbs, fence posts and similar items will be accepted without being broken into smaller pieces. Used tires, large metal items in excess of 4 feet, clean fill, clean broken concrete, boats, boat trailers cars, vans, pickup trucks and small trailers will also be accepted. Businesses may not participate.

Proof of district residency must be shown at the time of drop-off. Proof of ownership of boats or trailers must be provided and signed over to the town. The boats must be drained of oil, gas and other fluids, and all batteries must be removed.

Residents of the following communities or garbage districts are not eligible to participate: Bayville, Brookville, Centre Island, Cove Neck, Lattingtown, Laurel Hollow, Matinecock, Mill Neck, Muttontown, Old Brookville, Old Westbury, Oyster Bay Cove, Roslyn Harbor, Sea Cliff, Upper Brookville and the Glenwood-Glen Head Garbage District.

The final homeowners cleanup is scheduled for Nov. 6. Call 516-677-5943 for more information.
