Oyster Bay officials to unveil new Athletic Center next weekend

Town of Oyster Bay officials plan to unveil a new athletic center next weekend in Hicksville.

The grand opening for the Hicksville Athletic Center, at 167 S. Broadway, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, by Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto.

The planned festivities include free refreshments and giveaways as well as a basketball shooting contest, face painting, music, trivia games and a unicyclist performance, according to a news release.

People who attend will also have an opportunity to sign up for some of the programs being held at the new facility, including Youth Center, dance, Mommy/Grandma and Me, tae kwon do, tennis, tumbling and golf.

“We invite youngsters to wear their Halloween costume,” Venditto said in the news release.
