Dana Galgano threw a four-hit shutout and struck out five to lead top-seeded Oyster Bay (9-12) to a 2-0 win over No. 2 Carle Place in Game 1 of the Nassau Class B softball championship series at Mitchel Athletic Complex Monday.

Danielle Sugar scored on a sacrifice fly by Olivia Agostinello in the third inning to give the Baymen a 1-0 lead. Caroline Kelly drove in Madison Albert with a single later in the inning. Game 2 is at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Mitchel.

Carey 7, Island Trees 1: Brianna Pinto led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run and finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored to lead top-seeded Carey (20-1) over No. 2 Island Trees in Game 1 of the Class A Nassau championship. Amanda Ulzheimer went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run and Sam Romanello went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Jenna Turato allowed five hits, two walks and struck out five. Game 2 is at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Mitchel.
