Students at Pace University in Pleasantville are raising money to help the family of the Bronx River Parkway crash victims.
Jonel Gonzalez, a freshman at Pace, lost his mother, little sister, grandparents and cousins in the horrific crash this weekend.
Police say the SUV his mother was driving clipped a median and careened across three lanes of traffic on Sunday before plunging 60 feet over a guardrail onto the Bronx Zoo grounds. The family was gathering to celebrate Gonzalez's sister's communion.
Last night, Gonzalez's fraternity brothers at Pace held a fundraiser to help with funeral costs. Students are planning another campus fundraiser tomorrow. Even though this is finals week, more than $4,600 have been raised.
The funerals will be held on Friday.
