Thanks to some sweet talking on Facebook, Billy Kovatch is now known in the Ducks clubhouse as "Baby Cakes."
Unaware that teammates were stalking his page, the recently engaged Kovatch was caught exchanging affectionate comments with his fiancee which led to the new nickname.
The 28-year-old outfielder is in his fifth year playing independent baseball, bouncing from the Golden League to the South Coast League to the Can-Am League and finally the Atlantic League. In his second stint with the Ducks, the Florida native is hitting .218 with nine RBIs in 49 games.

"My new fiancée Madyson, my family and my new puppy Klark."
Most embarrassing on-field moment?
"I was battling, fouling balls off, and I ended up striking out. I was so frustrated I tossed my helmet down and threw the bat to the side. I was walking back out to centerfield with my head down and I got halfway past the pitcher and looked up and saw the defense was still on the field.
