Huntington Town officials said parking restrictions are temporarily suspended at LIRR and municipal parking lots, including the parking garage at the Huntington LIRR station.

“We had quite a few people park their cars at the Huntington [LIRR], garage which we encourage them to do,” Town Supervisor Ed Smyth said.

The temporary suspension is in effect overnight. Town officials will make a determination on Tuesday morning on when to lift it.

The law would require businesses to have proper state licensing, prove that their employees are paid and ban staff from living at the spas or sleeping there overnight.
