The Foundation for Long Island State Parks tonight will present its 14th annual Robert Moses Master Builder Award to Lucy Rockefeller Waletzky, chair of the state Council of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

The council comprises the chairs of 11 regional state-appointed park and recreation advisory commissions.

“Lucy Rockefeller Waletzky is among New York’s leading champions of state parks,” said Rose Harvey, commissioner of the state Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, who will give the award. “Through her commitment, philanthropy and a tireless work ethic, she has become the state’s most effective leading citizen in the cause of restoring New York’s magnificent state park system.”

Previous Master Builder Award recipients include developer Donald Trump and performer Bette Midler, founder of the New York Restoration Project, a New York City park improvement organization.

The event begins at 6 p.m. at Carlyle on the Green at Bethpage State Park. Tickets for the foundation’s major annual fundraiser to support Long Island park projects are $350. For more information, call 631- 321-3403.
