Party for children of military personnel

A Suffolk County legislator and a Deer Park business are holding a free party for the children of military personnel.
Monster Mini-Golf is hosting the party Sunday at its Deer Park location at 410-C Commack Rd. The event was created by Legis. Steve Stern (D-Dix Hills), who has introduced legislation marking April as Month of the Military Child to recognize the sacrifices made by families of military personnel.
All children whose parents are active military personnel are welcome. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon and will include pizza and refreshments. The Cornell Cooperative Extension’s 4-H program is also handing out free backpacks with notebooks and a toy doll or stuffed animal.
