Passenger at traffic stop arrested on drug charges

Southampton Town police who pulled a driver over for a traffic infraction this week ended up arresting the passenger on drug charges.

Police said Andre Coach, 34, of Riverhead, had 73 bags of PCP and six grams of marijuana.

He was arrested Monday on two charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, harassment and resisting arrest. Arraignment details were unclear.

The stop happened at about 5 p.m. on Peconic Avenue in Riverside.
