UPDATE: Service has been restored in all directions. The LIRR says that all passengers have been transferred to an alternate train.

The 9:42 p.m. train from Penn Station to Huntington was disabled just east of Floral Park because of equipment problems shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday night, according to Long Island Rail Road officials.

Service was temporarily suspended in both directions between Queens Village and Merillon Avenue because of the disabled train.

The Ronkonkoma, Oyster Bay and Port Jefferson branches were affected.

Customers on the disabled train were being transferred to an alternate train.
