One of the oldest buildings in Patchogue, at 31 W. Main St., is about to undergo a major face-lift as part of the village's downtown rehabilitation project.

The face-lift is made possible by a $2.4-million grant to the village from the Empire State Development Corp., which said in an announcement Friday that the building, constructed in 1898, will continue to be used as a mixed-use office and retail facility.

ESD said the project is expected to create more than 75 permanent full-time jobs.
