LuPone takes aim at AT&T football tweet

Northport-born theater legend Patti LuPone has blasted AT&T for a since-deleted tweet showing a theatergoer watching sports on his smartphone during a performance, with the tagline "Don't let life get between you and football." "Our theatres, ballet and symphony halls are not arenas," LuPone, 66, said in a lengthy statement. "They are intimate spaces. . . . Everything can be heard including the tapping of your digits on a phone or the click of a camera . . . It's time we all in the theatre community put an end to the cell phone disruptions."
