Pattinson says he's not making album

A representative for Robert Pattinson Tuesday shot down rumors that the "Twilight" star is recording an album.

"The report is untrue," the actor's rep told MTV News, responding to a report in Us Weekly. "He is not working on an album right now."

According to Us, the British actor, 25 -- who recorded two songs for the soundtrack of the first "Twilight" film -- is putting together a guitar-based album in-between promotional obligations for the upcoming "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1."

Pattinson, who plays soulful vampire Edward Cullen in the films, has a musical background. In addition to writing and performing "Let Me Sign" and co-writing, performing and producing "Never Think" for 2008's "Twilight," he also performed the songs "Chokin' on the Dust" Parts 1 and 2, and "Doin' Fine" for the 2008 British indie film "How to Be."

Fellow "Twilight" actor Jackson Rathbone told Us that Pattinson often jams in his hotel room while shooting the "Twilight" films in Vancouver. "He loves to play the blues. He can hold his own on a guitar. We enjoyed jamming together when we had the time. Very humble and quiet guy."

"Breaking Dawn" director Bill Condon told MTV at Comic-Con, without mentioning Pattinson specifically, that some cast members might contribute to the soundtrack. "We're just figuring out [the soundtrack] now," Condon said. "We have a lot of [songs]. We have like 15, I think."
